A surgeon who understands that breast surgery requires personal solutions for medical and aesthetic needs.
Ms Aggarwal is a consultant oncoplastic surgeon. Her NHS practice involves the surgical treatment of breast, or skin cancers and reconstruction. She is a member of both the skin and breast cancer MDTs, also one of the few plastic surgeons in the UK who is fully trained to perform primary breast cancer surgery, in addition to reconstruction.
Ms Aggarwal obtained her primary medical degree from The University of Delhi, where she was ranked 1st in the highly competitive Indian National Postgraduate Entrance Exam. She completed her plastic training in London as part of the Pan Thames training programme, gaining a wide range of experience in cancer reconstruction.
Her training was complemented by two prestigious fellowships, the microsurgery fellowship at the Royal Marsden Hospital and the National TIG (training interface group) fellowship in breast cancer.
A special interest in fat grafting and regenerative medicine led her to establish a lipomodelling service at Whipps Cross Hospital. She uses fat grafting for the treatment of contour deformities, or scars and as an adjunct to reconstructive surgery.
In addition to her clinical practice, Ms Aggarwal is the audit, quality improvement and research lead for the breast unit at Whipps Cross. She is a member of iBRA net, a group for innovation and evaluation of new surgical techniques and products, also principle investigator for two national studies on the NIHR portfolio.
With these roles, Ms Aggarwal remains at forefront of her profession, ensuring that her skills and knowledge are kept up to date. This helps to bring the best possible care to her patients, tailored to their individual needs.
