We are supporters of the NHS, in a social and practical sense. Several of our consultants have, or still do lead significant NHS facilities.
Skin Care Network are also supporters of personal choice and understand the points made in the video. A patient wanting the best and access to this as soon as they wish is entirely rational.
Private treatment can provide a first rate, comprehensive service, in an accessible environment. Where you are in control and where cross disciplinary care tends to work remarkably well.
A Multidisciplinary Team
A patient’s needs may be quite specific, their requirement simply to see one specialist and to do so quickly. In a good private medical clinic, this is rarely an issue and a suitable appointment can be offered.
The advantages of private care are however multiplied when further options are needed. Direct access to advanced diagnostics, or other specialists, happens with greater speed.
Neither will this necessarily mean moving on to a different provider. Clinics like Skin Care Network have their own, state of the art diagnostic units in house and are often built around multidisciplinary teams.
Alongside consultant dermatologists, fast track referrals to leading specialists on our team are normal. A maxillofacial surgeon and opthalmic plastic surgeon amongst them, alongside unique treatment for skin cancer.
Promoting Patient Confidence
We are again not decrying the value offered by the NHS, where arrangements for most needs can be made. The reality remains that seeing exactly who you want, when you wish to do so, is not likely to prove easy.
Open access to our in situ, multidisciplinary team improves patient health in a number of ways. Speedy treatment is the best option, having this delivered by leading consultants is a further, vital edge.
Believing in your treatment and feeling this is centred around you are not selfish feelings, they are well placed, logical feelings. Confidence not only makes you feel good inside , this often helps you get better.
NHS & Private Treatment Contrasts
The NHS themselves offer private patient units for certain disciplines and their own marketing of these facilities may offers answers.
They mention having your own room, with en suite facilities, notably improved quality of the environment, out of hours appointments. Also better staff to patient ratios and swift access to specialist facilities.
Nothing wrong with this, they are just being realistic. Nobody would suggest for one moment that staff at an NHS clinic do not care as deeply about their patients but they are not able to offer them the same.
What is normality within top quality private care is not available as standard in the NHS. We wish them well and will continue to support them in every way possible, whilst also pursuing sound alternatives.
We offer exceptional treatment, good facilities, speed and flexibility. Whilst the reality of access is financially, or insurance based, ensuring you have this choice is important.
