Continuity of care comes from good relationships with patients and a shared aim amongst those treating you.
Our clinic is able to support patients because all staff are dedicated to doing so. They work as a team, bringing efficiency, the right environment, well maintained equipment and a great deal of knowledge.
A nursing post we offered in 2020 includes study for an MSc in Clinical Dermatology. Alongside real world experience, this helps to ensure patients receive specialist dermatological care, based on expertise.
Support staff need the ability to use advanced diagnostic tools, to provide advice, or treatment. Their contribution is important in managing skin conditions and in seeing that our practice runs smoothly.
Although Teena Skakum-Dring, our practice manager, fills a non medical role, her background as a specialist nurse is valuable. This brings deeper understanding of practical needs, staff education and ensuring patients are at the centre of our work.
To provide good care, financial systems must be sound, appointments work for patients and clinicians. Records need to be accurate and accessible, the future planned to bring the right services for evolving needs.
Our nursing staff assist in the performance of skin examinations and digital record keeping. They carry out medical, or cosmetic procedures, assess and monitor wounds, provide pre and post operative care.
The health care assistants who work alongside them help in taking key samples and assist with surgical procedures. Our receptionists ensure patients are comfortable and informed, part of comprehensive treatment.
All Staff Matter
As with most medical disciplines, the decades of training and experience our consultants bring lead patient care, yet this works because of wider support.
All our staff play a part in diagnosis, or treatment, in providing a modern, clean and welcoming place to visit. They are involved in educating patients on skin conditions and how to recover from them.
We are fortunate in having a committed team, who help to build an ethos based on health and wellbeing for those who come to us.
