Doctor Mann offers advice on reducing the effects of the sun’s UV rays and the risk of getting skin cancer.
The specialist knowledge Dr Mann brings to patients includes an in depth understanding of skin cancer. He leads the skin cancer and research teams at Basildon & Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Helping with prevention, or offering treatment at the earliest possible stage are equally important to Dr Mann. Through skin, or mole screening, using advanced imaging technology alongside an expert eye.
After studying medicine at University College London, Dr Mann undertook postgraduate training in London and Kent, before specialising in dermatology. Gaining experience on a wide range of conditions and approaches to treatment.
His interest in advanced surgical techniques led to further training. This included a Mohs micrographic surgery and laser fellowship at the renowned St John’s Institute, disciplines which can achieve so much with minimal intervention.
They reflect Dr Mann’s view that for all dermatological conditions, treatment should be carefully considered and tailored to the individual. An ethos he passes on, when teaching other doctors heading into dermatology.
Dr Mann is equally supportive of professional bodies he belongs to, such as The Royal College of Physicians and Royal Society of Medicine. More importantly, he is supportive of patients and provides exceptional care.
