Cryosurgery
Dermatologists are trained in the use of cryosurgery (freezing). This is used to treat skin cancer and for a variety of skin conditions including warts and skin tags and other benign skin lesions. The extreme cold is produced by liquid nitrogen and it works by destroying abnormal tissue.
Treatment details
This is a quick treatment (30 - 60 minutes) with little recovery time required. One session usually deals with the problem although occasionally several sessions are needed. You can return to work afterwards and no follow up visit is required.
