Melanoma
Melanoma is now well known as a form of skin cancer. It is the most serious type of skin cancer, but is relatively rare – just 10% of cases. Despite this increased awareness though, it is sadly a growing problem. If you are concerned about skin cancer we can help you. Skincare Network can diagnose and treat all forms of this disease.
Sun damage is the principle cause of skin cancer so prevention is all about reducing the risk of sunburn. This is particularly important for children. Unfortunately Melanoma also runs in families so careful surveillance of the skin is required.
The good news is that with early detection, melanoma can be diagnosed and cured. We advise that people check their skin regularly, looking particularly for moles and changes in moles. However, melanoma can start in normal looking skin.
