Genital Skin Cancer

Skin cancer affecting the genitals is thankfully rare but does occur.
Symptoms include:

• Non healing red areas or sores
• Changing pigmented areas
• Moles or freckles
• Warty growths
• Growing lesions

Human papilloma virus (HPV)

We offer the HPV vaccination to all ages, male and female. HPV is a family of viruses that affect the skin and the moist membranes that line the body. These membranes are found in the:

• Mouth
• Throat
• Vulva
• Cervix (the neck of the womb)
• Anus

There are many different forms of HPV, low and high risk. The high risk types can lead to cervical and other forms of cancer, including vaginal and anal cancers. HPV can also cause genital warts, the most common viral sexually transmitted infection. At Skin Care Network we will be able to type the warts for you to identify those which are high risk for development of cancerous and pre-cancerous change and those of low risk.
